In a nutshell

Customs Declarations UK (CDUK) is the cloud platform for bringing customs filing in-house. One account covers GB CDS import and export, GB and EU safety and security, NCTS transit, GVMS and French ELO, with guided wizards, real-time validation, AI document processing and reusable data. It connects directly with HMRC and with the UK Community System Providers CNS, MCP/Destin8 and CCS-UK.

It is built for importers and exporters filing their own goods, and for agents, brokers, forwarders, hauliers and logistics providers filing for their clients. Your team prepares, checks and submits every declaration itself, so you see everything and stop paying a third party for each entry.

There is no monthly fee and no minimum volume, with accounts activated instantly. Our UK team provides onboarding, training and support. Multi-factor authentication, an audit trail and team workflow tools come with the account, so the platform suits a small team or a larger operation.

The work behind a declaration

A declaration starts well before someone selects Submit.

Gathering information, checking the goods, choosing the procedure and closing gaps in the paperwork usually take longer than the submission itself. After submission, customs responses and transport handovers still need attention. CDUK brings that whole run of work into one workspace, with a clear view of every job from first document to final response.

  • Before the entry exists

Invoices, packing lists and transport documents arrive in different layouts and sometimes disagree. CDUK reads them into a reviewable draft and shows conflicts side by side, so your team reconciles in minutes instead of retyping.

  • While the entry is prepared

Parties, shipment details, goods lines and supporting information are completed in a guided order, with real-time validation and commodity code lookup checking the entry as you work. Your reviewer then sees a complete, checked entry.

  • After the entry is sent

Submission is a handover to the customs system, not the end of the job. CDUK notifies your team of every customs response, keeps it with the declaration and records the history, so everyone moving the goods knows where things stand.

From incoming documents to the next action

Prepare, complete and follow the result.

Three stages describe most daily filing work. Each can be done by the same person or split between colleagues using workflow and team collaboration features, with every step recorded. Our UK team helps you set the stages up during onboarding.

Prepare

Prepare with less retyping.

Invoices, packing lists and transport documents hold much of what your team needs. Customs IDP turns them into a reviewable draft, with no per-document fee. When documents disagree, or the same goods appear on more than one, your operator resolves the differences before the draft is created.

  • Extracted values arrive as a draft your team reviews
  • Conflicting values are shown side by side for a decision
  • Repeated goods are grouped for you to accept or keep separate
Complete

Complete the declaration in context.

Guided wizards organise the information each filing needs, and the declaration workspace is where it comes together. For CDS declarations, commodity requirements mapping turns selected codes into a clear list of data and document requirements, and common information is applied across goods items in one step, leaving you to handle only the differences. Checks run while the entry is built, so gaps are found early.

  • A guided order for parties, shipment, goods and supporting information
  • Shared answers applied to selected goods lines
  • Checks surfaced while the entry is being built
Follow

Follow the result.

Read the response from the relevant customs system the moment it arrives, see whether further action is needed and coordinate with the people managing the movement. Notifications, status and history sit with the declaration, so your whole team has the same picture.

  • Responses sit with the declaration they relate to
  • Further information, amendments and cancellations handled from the same record
  • Transport handovers coordinated with the filing
Use the services your operation needs

Match the movement to the service.

Every service sits on the same account, with the same login and audit trail. The route and direction of a movement determine which combination you file, and you pay only for what you use. Maximum prices per declaration are published: CDS £25, GB ENS £10, NCTS departure £15 and EU ICS2 £4.

Most shipments need only some of these services, and you choose them per movement. ICS2 covers EU safety and security filing; national EU import and export filing is separate. Who uses the platform

The same platform, different working days.

A customs agent, a haulier and an importer all file, but they begin from different places. Pick the role closest to yours to see how CDUK fits.

Many clients, one consistent process

  • CDS
  • GB ENS
  • NCTS

Agents and brokers file for several clients, each with their own parties, products and habits. Saved trader profiles, templates and cloning let your team start from what is already known, so you can take on more clients at a lower cost per entry. You keep a clear audit trail for every filing you make on their behalf.

  • Start from documents, spreadsheets, saved parties or earlier entries
  • Apply the same built-in checks to every client’s declaration
  • Follow responses against the declaration they relate to
Faster repeat work

Repeat work should never mean entering everything again.

Saved parties, trader profiles, templates and declaration cloning let your team begin every filing with what is already known. AI document processing and bulk CSV or Excel upload are other fast starting points when source information changes from job to job.

The same approach applies inside a declaration. If several CDS goods items share a requirement, complete that information once and concentrate on the items that differ. Reuse cuts preparation time sharply, and your team still checks each field against the current consignment before it submits.

Onboarding

Start with one service and grow from there.

Begin with the services your operation needs today and add more on the same account as you grow. Our UK team works through the scope with you during onboarding, trains your people and stays on hand for support. There is no minimum volume, so you can start small and extend when the first workflow runs smoothly.

  1. Step 1: Describe the operation

Tell us which filings you make, which ports you use and what information you receive.

  2. Step 2: See your own shipment

Bring a representative shipment, the route and the declaration types involved, and we use it as the basis of the demonstration.

  3. Step 3: Create an account and train the team

Register for instant access, agree the services you need and let our team train the people who prepare and review filings.

  4. Step 4: Add workflows as you need them

Extend to further services, document processing, bulk imports or integrations once the first workflow is running.

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions about the platform.

Who is CDUK designed for?

Importers and exporters who want to bring customs filing in-house, and agents, brokers, forwarders, hauliers and logistics providers who file for their clients. Each gets one account and a lower cost per entry. See the solutions for each audience.

Can we start with one service?

Yes. Start with the services your operation needs, for example GB CDS declarations, and add more on the same account as you grow. Pay as you go with no monthly fee and no minimum volume, or subscribe for volume discounts. See the pricing page.

Who stays in control of each declaration?

Your team does. You prepare each declaration, check it and submit it directly to HMRC, with built-in validation, commodity guidance and our support behind you. Classification, origin and valuation decisions are yours, and the compliance and validation page shows how the checks help.

What does the EU ICS2 service cover?

It covers EU entry summary filing under ICS2, at a maximum of £4 per declaration. National EU import and export filing is separate. ICS2 air is confirmed per lane, so tell us your dataset and we will confirm it. Filing ICS2 on the same account as your GB declarations means one login and one audit trail.

Can we see our own workflow in a demo?

Yes. Bring a representative shipment, the route and the declaration types involved, and we will show you how your team files it in CDUK from start to finish. Contact us to arrange it.

Do I need a port badge or special software to start?

CDUK is cloud software that you use through a browser, so there is nothing to install. No port badge is needed for RoRo (roll-on, roll-off) and GVMS movements, or for export declarations. Inventory-linked ports and airports connect through CNS, MCP/Destin8 and CCS-UK. See our guide to submitting GB import declarations without a port badge.

How does shipment data from our own systems get in?

Through bulk CSV or Excel upload, AI document processing or an API connection scoped with our team, depending on how your data exists. We agree the best route with you, so shipment data reaches your declarations without retyping. See connect ERP, TMS and WMS data. ERP, TMS and WMS connections are scoped with our team, so we agree the data, timing and checks before you rely on them.
